What our recommendations are — and are not
Decision-Lab does not claim that any tool is universally "the best." We publish DecisionCenter's evaluation based on published criteria and the priorities a reader selects. Reasonable readers using different priorities should expect different rankings — that is by design.
How tools are scored

Priority presets re-weight the ranking
Readers choose a priority that reflects what matters to them. Each preset is a weight vector across the criteria above. The engine blends the preset's weighted score with the relevance of each tool to the reader's stated goal.

Independence & affiliate relationships
Some links on Decision-Lab are affiliate links. Affiliate relationships never determine rankings. Tools without any affiliate relationship are evaluated and ranked the same way as tools with one. See our Affiliate Disclosure for details.
AI-assisted explanations
The DecisionCenter database is the authoritative source of recommendations. AI may be used to summarize, explain, or personalize the presentation — never to invent or override scores. See the AI Disclaimer.
